At PDP Athletics, we're dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential and achieve their baseball goals. Our founder, Jake, wants to give every player the opportunity to transform into the player they can be.

 

Once considered the underdog of his high school team, Jake only had one college looking his way. But that didn't stop him. After a year at a small Division II school and transferring a to junior college, he revamped his pitching mechanics, and made a name for himself. Jake didn't just join the team; he became a record-setting All-American closer.

When injury hit and he was cut from a team, Jake didn't throw in the towel. He hit the books, juggled a hefty 19 credit course load, and worked out in an underground parking garage to come back stronger. That grit got him to Florida State University, and even after COVID-19 threw a curveball at his collegiate career, Jake stayed in the game, earning his Master's in Sports Management.

Jake's lesson to young players? Keep pushing. When professional opportunities didn't immediately come knocking, he took to social media to show off his improved fastball. His persistence paid off when the Pitching Ninja shared his video, catching the Chicago White Sox's attention. Now, with a contract in hand, Jake's story isn't just about baseball—it's about never giving up on your dreams, no matter how many curveballs life throws at you. So, to all the youth players and their parents out there, remember Jake's story, because with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible—even making it to the pros.
